NZFM was founded in 2014 by Peter Kane and Justin Geary, and has grown both in size and capability over this time. Justin is passionate about farming and supporting farmers. With a career spanning various areas of the agricultural sector, he brings a depth of experience that enables him to truly understand your business and its unique needs.
His background includes roles in both the service industry and large-scale agribusiness banking, giving him the insight and expertise to support, analyse, and advocate for your farming operation – no matter its size or complexity. Justin is equally at home working with large, complex enterprises as he is with smaller, owner-operated farms looking to boost performance.

Peter Kane is a hands-on, practical farm management professional with deep roots in New Zealand agriculture. He and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his rural advisory role with NZ Farm Management. Based in the North Island, he works across key farming regions including Hawke’s Bay, Waikato, Taranaki, and Manawatu, bringing a results-driven approach to pasture-based farming, animal performance, and land-use planning.

has a background in large-scale dairy farming and sheep & beef farming. He was a self-employed agricultural fencing contractor before starting on a 1,000-cow dairy farm in the Waikato as a Farm Assistant, progressing to a management role.
Using the experience Peter gained throughout his many years in management roles in dairy businesses, Peter then moved to a position with Rakaia Island Dairies as Operations Manager, leading the transition from 2,700 cows twice a day through to 7,500 cows once a day. It was here he gained his staff management experience, having 42 full-time employees.
